Santander X UK Awards 2023 National Final

Now in its 13th year, Santander's annual Entrepreneurship Awards is one of the UK's largest early-stage business pitching competitions. To date, they've supported hundreds of early-stage entrepreneurs and provided more than £900,000 in equity-free funding to start-ups and small businesses. Recent winners have included UNI SIM, Team Repair, Milbotix, Kitt Medical, Konglomerate Games and Sojo.

This year’s competition has two categories: University (for new businesses looking to launch) and Startup (for growing businesses ready to scale). For the first time in the history of the competition the startup category is open to everyone, not just university entrepreneurs.
6 winners (3 per category) will receive up to £25,000 equity-free funding and secure an automatic place in the Santander X Global Awards where the businesses will have the opportunity to compete against the best early-stage startups from across Europe and Latin America.

The National Final of the competition will be held on 7 December and will be the first time that it will be held in Santander’s new headquarters at Unity Place in Milton Keynes.

Selected from over 1,500 applicants, the 12 finalists represent some of the UK’s most exciting early-stage startups. They’ll be competing for the chance to win up to £25,000 of funding and a place in the Santander X Global Award, Santander’s international entrepreneurship competition.

All the businesses will be pitching live to an esteemed panel of judges which will include Mike Regnier, Chief Executive Officer of Santander UK, William Vereker, Chairman, Santander UK, UK rapper and Investor, Tinie Tempah, entrepreneur and former Dragon’s Den contestant Sam Jones, Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, former Olympic Gold Champion and Entrepreneur, and 2022 Santander X UK Award winners Zeke Steer, founder of Milbotix, and Megan Hale, co-founder of Team Repair.

Hosted by Seema Jaswal, British sports journalist, radio and television presenter, as an attendee you’ll have the opportunity to meet and network with investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, press and media during the breaks and at the post award drinks. In addition to the pitches, following the lunchbreak, there will also be a fireside chat with Tinie Tempah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Sam Jones in conversation with Seema Jaswal.
