We have an exciting panel of speakers who will share their insights into the future of Wearable Technology and its varied application in the medical sphere.
From smart sensing solutions, new materials and human technologies, this event will delve into ways wearable technology can be applied to create new healthcare/medical solutions.
We are thrilled to announce we will be joined by:
- Zeke Steer, CEO at Milbotix who will be talking about the progress he's made towards commercialising his academic research and cover the importance of engaging with end users to identify unmet needs, the mindset of 'Research versus Engineering' and raising early investment.
- Stuart Wells, Director at Location Extreme will be presenting their new GPS safeguarding solution; 'Meili GPS Safe' - a next generation GPS tracking system with SOS and GeoFencing features that enables carers to be alerted when a patient or loved-one wanders, and to be routed directly to their location via the Meili App.
- Simon McMaster, CEO at Footfalls & Heartbeats who will present ‘Prehabilitation and rehabilitation in the 21st Century’, focusing on the use of wearable technologies to increase the time provided for clinical prehab and rehab whilst allowing the patient to continue in their normal lives.

- Dr Laura Salisbury founder of KnitRegen and Dr Gopika Rajan, postdoctoral researcher from the Royal College of Art, present their revolutionary patent-pending smart textiles as a form of wearable physiotherapy for stroke rehabilitation. The audience will learn how this technology aims at addressing current problems with post-stroke treatment while prioritising end-user comfort, identity and general well-being.
